Good Housekeeping, Jan 2013

goodhousekeeping.gifGood Housekeeping featured us in their January Edition, writing:

Shut that door!

Why do some shops insist on heating the High Street by needlessly pumping hot air on to their open doorways? Research from Cambridge University shows that closing the door when using heating or air-con can save up to 50% of a shop's total carbon emissions. The Close The Door campaign has big name retailers, including John Lewis, M&S and Tesco, behind it - and now they want us to help. 'Consumers can close shop doors behind them, write to head offices, or go to closethedoor.org.uk,' says spokesman Rachel Lankester.

the_times_460.gifThis brilliant Times by Fashion Editor Laura Craik comes out as the cold weather starts! A great way to kick off the autumn campaign. Please help too - ask shop staff to keep their doors closed to save energy (and money!) and let them know their customers mind.
